In December 2019, esteemed independent Chairman of the LGISWA Board of Directors Howard King completed his tenure.

Peter Forbes was elected Chairman at the February 2020 Board meeting. Peter has served on the LGIS Board of Directors since 2017 and previously was a founding partner and former managing partner of the WA branch of HLB Mann Judd, chartered accountants, and is the former CEO of specialist medical indemnity mutual, MDA National and Managing Director of MDA National Insurance.

Tony Evans joined the Board in February 2020. Tony has extensive board experience – he is the immediate past-president of RAC WA, non-executive director of the Australian Automobile Association, non-executive director of St Ives Group Pty Ltd, and council member of HBF Health Ltd. He has a number of other board positions including board member of the National Offshore Petroleum Safety and Environmental Management Authority, board member Metropolitan Cemeteries Board and governing council member of Central Regional TAFE.

Tony has both commercial and corporate governance experience in the resources, education, health, property and not-for-profit sectors. His business career includes executive management appointments with Chevron Corporation, the Perth Diocesan Trustees, Iluka Resources Ltd, Murdoch University and WA Petroleum Pty Ltd.

There is currently a vacancy on the LGISWA Board for a local government elected member representative.
