What does this Journey Personal Injury cover provide?

  • It pays you up to 100% of your earnings for up to two years, with a maximum of $2,500 per week (or more if specified).
  • If you suffer death or permanent disability because of the injury, a lump sum payment of $300,000 (or more if specified) will be provided.
  • Benefits are paid for up to two years where an employee has suffered a temporary incapacity i.e. unable to return to their pre-injury work/hours.
  • Please note, this cover does not pay for medical expenses.

Important notes

Benefits will not be paid if doing so would break any laws related to health insurance or if the injury is already covered by Medicare, workers’ compensation, transport accident schemes, government funds, or any other insurance required by law.

The main purpose of this protection is to help local government employees keep their income and ease financial worries if they get injured while traveling to or from work.

This is just a short summary. For full details, please check your WorkCare and journey injury protection documents.
