City of Kwinana

LGIS had the pleasure of visiting the City of Kwinana to present the 3 Steps to Safety Diligence in Safety Award.

We recognised Kwinana’s outstanding commitment to workplace health and safety based upon their
incorporation of our three steps ‘assess’, ‘plan’ and ‘act’. In light of this the City received the Tier 3 Gold
Certificate achievement for exemplary safety performance. We commend the City’s leadership, innovative
safety initiatives, and dedication to the wellbeing of their workers, contractors, and volunteers. Thank you
to the City of Kwinana for their warm welcome and ongoing partnership in building a safer workplace.

WALGA Local Government Convention 2025

In September, LGIS proudly participated in the WA Local Government Association’s (WALGA), Local Government Convention 2025. Embracing the theme, Lean into Legacy, we connected with local government leaders to discuss risk management, asset protection, and building sustainable futures. LGIS CEO James Sheridan provided members with a report on 2024/25 Scheme results at the Annual General Meeting and shared our vision to support resilient communities and celebrate our 30th anniversary. We thank everyone who visited us on stand, our team enjoyed the conversations and insights into the issues for your local government.

City of Rockingham – WHS awards

In October, Emma Horsefield, our People Risk Manager was a judge at the City of Rockingham’s annual “Work Safe, Go Home Safe” safety awards. The high standard of submissions challenged the judging panel and reflected the City’s strong commitment to workplace safety.

Emma reported that the event has become the highlight of her year, noting that “working with fellow judges and recognising positive safety behaviours across the workforce is incredibly rewarding”. Emma alongside LGIS is proud to be involved and admires the dedication shown at all levels to safety at this important event.

The awards continue to play a key role in promoting a mindset of safety within the City of Rockingham.
